Wraparound Care

At Skirlaugh CE Primary School, we are proud to offer high-quality wraparound care through our Breakfast Club and After School Club. Our clubs provide a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment where children can enjoy a range of activities, spend time with friends and be cared for by familiar members of staff before and after the school day. Our provision reflects our Christian vision and encourages every child to Be Brave, Be Kind and Be Your Best.

Breakfast Club

Monday to Friday (term time only)

🕢 7.30am – 8.45am

£5.50 per session

Children enjoy a healthy breakfast, quiet activities, games and opportunities to socialise before the school day begins. At the end of the session, children are escorted safely to their classrooms by staff.

After School Club

Monday to Frida (term time only)

🕞 3.30pm – 5.30pm

£7.00 per session

Children can relax after the school day with a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, games, crafts and free play. A light meal and drink are provided during the session. Children attending school clubs after school can also join After School Club afterwards.

Who Can Attend

Our wraparound provision is available for all children attending Skirlaugh CE Primary School, from Nursery through to Year 6. We are committed to providing an inclusive environment and will work with families to make reasonable adjustments where appropriate to support children with additional needs.

Booking Sessions

To use our wraparound care, families should:

• Complete a registration form (available from the school office).
• Book and pay for sessions in advance using Compass.
• Book Breakfast Club by 2.00pm the previous day.
• Book After School Club by 2.00pm on the day required.

Where possible, we will always try to accommodate emergency bookings in exceptional circumstances.

Food

Children attending Breakfast Club are offered a healthy breakfast, while those attending After School Club receive a light meal and drink. We cater for allergies, medical conditions and dietary requirements, and children should not bring their own food unless this has been agreed in advance.

Collection Arrangements

Children must be collected by an authorised adult and signed out at the end of each session.

After School Club closes promptly at 5.30pm. If you are unexpectedly delayed, please contact the club as soon as possible using the school mobile phone. A late collection charge may apply.

Typical Activities

Children enjoy a wide range of engaging activities throughout the week, including:

• 🧩 Board games and puzzles
• 🧱 LEGO®, construction toys and small world play
• 📚 Reading, stories and quiet corners
• ⚽ Outdoor games and physical play (weather permitting)
• 🎭 Imaginative and role play
• 🍳 Baking and simple cooking activities
• 🌱 Gardening and seasonal nature activities
• 🎉 Themed activities linked to celebrations and special events
• 🤝 Team games that encourage cooperation, confidence and friendships
• ✏️ Time to complete homework or read with an adult if children wish

Our aim is to provide a relaxed, enjoyable environment where children can unwind after the school day, develop friendships, build confidence and have fun through a balance of child-led and adult-led activities.
