At Skirlaugh CE Primary School, we believe that children should experience a rich and varied range of opportunities throughout their primary school journey. Our enrichment offer is designed to inspire curiosity, develop character and resilience, nurture individual talents and help children discover new interests and passions.

Beyond the curriculum, we provide a wide range of memorable experiences that broaden children’s horizons and create opportunities for them to learn, grow and shine. These include extra-curricular clubs, educational visits, residential experiences, visitors into school, themed weeks and special events.

Throughout the year, children take part in exciting opportunities such as STEM Week, International Week, World Book Day, National Poetry Day celebrations including our Poetry Slam, Safer Internet Day, our Mini Marathon and RE-focused days exploring key Christian celebrations including Christmas, Easter and Creation. We also celebrate our school vision through special days linked to our values: Be Brave Day, Be Kind Day and Be Your Best Day, alongside community events such as Grandparent Day.

These experiences help children to develop confidence, creativity, teamwork and a sense of belonging, while encouraging them to embrace new challenges and make lasting memories during their time at Skirlaugh.
